Did you know? Through the generous donations of parents to the Cherry Crest PTSA, the Curriculum Enhancement team arranges over 50 presenters, field trips and special events that enhance the curriculum and make Cherry Crest an enriching experience for all students!

The Curriculum Enhancement (CE) Committee is charged with creating new and exciting learning opportunities for all students at Cherry Crest that expand grade level curriculum and District-wide objectives.

The committee works very hard to ensure that activities, visiting authors and field trips are fun, but more importantly, they tie directly to the BSD curriculum and enhance your child’s learning experience!

Everything CE does is teacher-driven; the teachers decide which experiences will best enhance the class’s curriculum.

All of the amazing curriculum-extending events are funded by the Cherry Crest PTSA through the Walkathon, Auction, Spring Readathon and other fundraising efforts. Without your support, these activities would not be possible.

Please make sure you are cleared to volunteer in the classrooms and school events. Check with your teacher to make sure you are approved to volunteer. To learn more about how to complete a volunteer form & background clearance, visit here. Please allow 48 hours for your paperwork to be approved.

The Curriculum Enhancement (CE) Committee members work with teachers to research and schedule activities, performers, and speakers that expand grade level curriculum. The benefits of the Curriculum Enhancement program to the students and the school are immeasurable.


ALL CE activities are teacher driven. The CE Committee meets with grade level teaching teams throughout the year to identify those opportunities that make sense and bring value for the teachers and the students. The grade level CE Coordinator works to support the teachers by researching, coordinating and scheduling activities to develop the current district curriculum, seeking information from members of the education, art, business and parent community.


Parent and community support of the Cherry Crest PTSA fundraisers (Walkathon, Read-a-thon and Annual Auction) provide 100% financing for all CE activities!


Parents and guardians each need to register as a verified volunteer with the district before participating in the event.
